‘ i hope you don’t think that’s gonna pass as an appropriate proposal. ’ she chastises him, a frown dragging down the corners of her mouth. of course, she absolutely does want to marry him some day. she’d never seen herself as a wife before, but with him? oh, god does she want to be his wife. she wants to wear his ring and take his name ( hyphenated, of course, like they chose to do with christopher ). she wants to be tied to him in every way possible.
she never thought she’d feel this way about marriage, but this is jeremy, and he is her partner in every way. they could live a thousand different lives, and in each one, she has no doubt that they would find their way together. and, even though it is cheesy and girly, she wants his proposal to be special, romantic. if she’s not crying, then he’s not done his job right. though, who is she kidding, he could propose to her in a burger king and she’d still cry.
she wanted to marry him before they found out she was pregnant with their son, and then especially when she was. but she understands why he decided not to. he didn’t want her or anyone else to think the only reason he married her is because he got her pregnant. which is touching, and romantic. it also completely raised the bar for when he does propose. she deserves a grand declaration of his undying love for her. she did, after all, push his almost ten pound baby out of her without drugs after being in labour for over a day.
allison shakes her head at him before turning and calling for her son. ‘ chris! mama’s gotta go! it’s time for preschool! ’ and, like the absolute angel he is, he comes bounding down the stairs with a big, goofy smile on his face, beautiful dark curls bouncing with each step. the three year old jumps into his mom’s arms, and the huntress laughs. ‘ say goodbye to daddy, ’ she says, placing a kiss on his rosy cheek. ‘ and tell him that mama’s not gonna answer him until she gets a proper proposal. ’ the baby laughs, waving his hand gleefully at his dad.
‘ because mama deserves something really special, doesn’t she? ’ allison coos, and chris bobs his head up and down with a nod. ‘ mama’s special, ’ he tells his father. ‘ we love mama, she makes us cupcakes on our birthday! ’ the brunette can’t help but break out in a laugh, and, in sync, both she and jeremy lean in to cover their son’s face with kisses while he giggles. when they pull away, allison’s smile is wide and beaming as she looks at jeremy with raised brows. ‘ you heard the boy. i’m special, and deserve the best proposal in history. ’

Prior to the beginning of the series, his parents died in a tragic car accident. His sister, Elena, was also in the car that night, but managed to survive thanks to Stefan Salvatore, who rescued her before she could drown. As a way of coping with the accident, he started dealing and using drugs, but soon stopped after the death of his first girlfriend, Vicki Donovan, who had supposedly died of an overdose. Following the murder of his second girlfriend Anna, Jeremy purposely overdosed on pills after drinking vampire blood in the hope of becoming a vampire so he could turn off his humanity. However, his attempt to become a vampire failed, and the blood healed the damage the pills caused to his system.
Jeremy was shot by Sheriff Forbes after Damon dodged the bullet, and was revived by Bonnie, who at the time was channeling the power of over a hundred massacred witches at the witch burial ground. However, the spell that caused him to be revived also gave him the power to see ghosts, causing him to be haunted by the ghosts of his dead girlfriends Vicki and Anna.
After experiencing multiple traumatic events as a result of the supernatural drama in his town, including being compelled by Klaus to stand in front of a speeding car, Elena feared for his safety and arranged for Damon to compel him to live with extended family in Denver.
