klaus returned to eating his meal, while evelyn picked up her wine and took a sip while jeremy made up his mind. in her right mind she would never be here. but losing matt was the final straw for her. she hadn’t been able to save either of her boys. so she was dealing with it the only way she knew how.

“they’re traitors both among the wolves and the vampires. what i need for you two to do is to weed them out of both. the hollow can’t operate as effectively if those who work for her are all dead now can she?” at least that was the logic that he was working for. she couldn’t get stronger if nobody could do her dirty work for her.

it was obnoxious the way they were playing house, as if this scenario was even remotely normal. evelyn had to be out of her goddamn mind, and klaus? the hybrid was clearly enjoying every second, even if he wouldn’t address it directly. he refused to touch any of the food in front of them. the display would be more of a facade anyways, and there was only so much ‘pretending’ he could do.

“you really think it’ll be that easy?” the defiant younger vampire asked, a brow raised indignant. “we both know the idiot in the cellar only bolted ‘cause he was about to shit himself looking at you. i doubt all of the hollow’s informants are so spineless.”
